While researching traditional Chinese weapons near Shanghai, we visited a distinguished collector who showed us an ancient Wu Jian sword or Battle Gim. Our interpretation of that awesome blade – the Cold Steel Battle Gim – is forged from our finest Damascus steel. Its hand-sharpened and radiantly polished broad blade is designed primarily for cutting and slashing, but can still deliver an effective thrust. The Battle Gim’s Rosewood hilt is framed by a blackened iron guard and pommel embellished with an intricate filigree of Peony flowers. The matching Rosewood scabbard is handsomely styled in a similar fashion on its chape, throat and ring mounts.
